I had to struggle to finish this film. One day a beautiful girl came into his life. It might have been very difficult for them to work to meet the expectations of the fans of the original version. In less than half an hour, they seemed bonded so much becauseof no reason. Charlie comes across as whinybut remains tolerable because Bradford manages to make some of himlikable. This version will just act as aspoiler. Yann Samuell's version of 'My Sassy Girl' is pretty much 95% a scene byscene copy of the beautiful Korean film.
Jesse Bradford tries to make the bestof Charlie despite the poor writing. Almost all the scenes and even the dialogs seemed so out of place. Hollywood must've done better or at least match the goodness of the original which I think they never will because this film is loved by most people. From their initial meeting, trouble is the name of the game. Why does Hollywood have to ruin all that is good? It was worse than watching the movie version of my favorite book.
From their initial meeting, trouble is the name of the game. It is a rare movie of Elisha in which she has a really strong role, and it's not a highschool movie, or a horror movie. But Yeopgijeogin geunyeo however happens to be funny and very good to other nationalities too. It's not as bad as the trashy Indian version called 'UglyAur Pagli'. This remake is not My Sassy Girl.
This movie suck this movie lack comedy , romance , and acting skills. The other reason is I like Jesse Bradford and Elisha Cuthbert. The storyline just doesn't suit the screenplay. I was fortunate enough tosee the Korean version first, if I hadn't this would have lessened theimpact. However, the message is conveyed in a fairly clumsy manner, borderline ridiculous. In the my sassy girl they took all of the touching moments and made it into jokes. Imagine an amorphous mass of dating disasters and you get an idea of the relationship between the young couple.
Though the ending was okay, but the rest of it all was just pathetic. As for the movie, it is a scene by scene copyof the original version, each more poorly executed than the next. You will see how much super awesome original version can become the worst movie. Elisha Cuthbert has never looked better but she fails todeliver in the comedic scenes. My Sassy Girl 2008 My Sassy Girl : My Sassy Girl is the tale of the first and last time Charlie Bello falls in love.
The best thing in original Korean movie was the behavior and mood of the girl and her perfect acting and also actor's acting and his mood. Imagine an amorphous mass of dating disasters and you get an idea of the relationship between the young couple. I was on his friend's side the whole time. However, if you compare it to the original one, the pace is much faster and the settings are very different. You will appreciate my advice. From a outsider to a hardworking, life-loving boy.
If you're going to watch both versions, make sure yousee this one first before the original. Hardworking wasnot in his book. All the people I know who have watched this movie was horrified. Just amazed by how really awesome movie can be worst one. You knew there was something intriguing about the girl.
If you like a foreign movie add subtitle and present it to the American audience. Watch Kwak's movie if you haven't seenit yet and then give this one a try if you really want to. After all, there were several aspects of the original movie that relied on Asian culture to contribute to the punchline. Though I was very sure that this would be no match to the original one, I was expecting a lot more what the movie offers. I find that the American version lacks the charisma of the 2 main characters, and feels very rushed. I first watched Ugly Aur Pagli, an Indian adaptation of this film which was mediocre but reminded me to watch the very good Korean film. According to the typical standard she was not a decent girl.
The producers should learn from Quin Tarantino. The girl was just a sassy beautiful girl. Im a big fan of the original Korean version. In this version she seemed more psychotic, Shejust seemed to attack. The characters were very unlikeable, from the bland and boring Charlie to the Jordan that belongs in a padded room. I must admit I didn't see the originalmovie, but still with the bad U.
