. Mine is in the shop right now for similar problems. Posted on Aug 01, 2011 disconnect battery and join leads together ,leave for a few hours then reconnect and see what happens ,if fault persists then call mechanic and see if he can put them out for you. Owner noticed a wheel wobble on left rear while rotating tires. Angus Wade of the Czech Republic had his suspension light come on when in Germany; it started yellow and then red, then disappeared when he stopped and restarted the engine -- and has not happened since. Re-installed it and no dice on inflating the suspension. It was not insulated well and got wet.
One of the mechanics said he had seen this before and recalibrated the steering angle. This will allow me to overhall both the noted motors. Current problem is the air suspension, with the warning light now coming on a few minutes after I start every time. The consumer stated would like a new vehicle or cancel the contract to obtain a refund for the vehicle. I still feel that this is a bad design there is no clear indication of warning on the car.
Have to say to Land Rover I agree the car is out warrenty as it is 04 but you dont have a given cost or a given rectification that if I take it to a Land Rover dealership i leave with a car I feel secure to drive down a motorwayw Had the same problem which turned out to be a slight crack in the Air Chamber it took Landrover Taunton 2 days to find but they never gave up. I told denise, he also doesn't have any record of my not requesting it. It is both my most favourite car I have owned and also the most frustrating. Wait for 10 min then drive for 20min cycle. This is clearly a problem with either the car or the tires, and the dealership acknowledged that it was a problem with the alignment of the vehicle. Was throwing out suspension error messages.
Also the wiring is probably becoming very corroded and could short out causing the vehicle to catch fire. I spoke with Land Rover North America and they will not pay to replace the defective part. The amber and red warning light still came on though at times. Believe me once the warranty expired they dropped me like a stone. I have a Disco 3 56 plate i have the problem this is my air system the yellow warning light has started coming on.
If the vehicle drops onto the frame it is traveling without suspension and can quickly produce an out of control vehicle at a normal rate of speed one could expect on the nations freeways. I changed the air dryer and everything has gone back to normal, after you have changed the air dryer, lift the car fully up and down a couple of times to clear any mixed messages. I was in for something don't remember what and the dealer claimed that the rig through a fault while in their shop and so they swapped the compressor out!. All mechanics have now given up despite spending many many thousands. The compressors were first replaced in 2005. This is what's comical about Land Rover owners today.
Replaced under aftermarket extended warranty. Up to that point the air suspension worked, then it would no longer work. It could get to the point where you're driving and all four corners drop to the bump stops, then you'll likely have to have it towed. The control module will return to standard height if possible and freezes once standard height is achieved. Now that the tires are gone, Land Rover is fixing the problem and replacing the tires. This is clearly a problem with either the car or the tires, and the dealership acknowledged that it was a problem with the alignment of the vehicle.
I took it to the dealer and they added my vehicle to the 10 they currently have that are waiting compressor replacements. Also check suspension hose that not routed to close to this pipe as gets extremely hot. British Autoworks recommends, at the very least, a fault code retrieval of your suspension system. If a fault occurs and the air suspension control module can determine the ride height and the vehicle is not above on-road mode height, the driver will be notified via a 'air suspension fault max speed 18. I spoke with Land Rover north America and they will not pay to replace the defective part. Last week, I was driving and the suspension light was came on and off every 5 or 10 minutes, it seemed.
For what it's worth, I trust my dealer they've always treated me well and given me solid info. I can barely drive this vehicle now because the left side dropped due to air suspension. We have now replaced all 4 height sensors twice, 1 new compressor, new management unit and 4 new air bags! We developed intermittent issues with ride height and warning at 4 years old. Little did I know that I was going to spend a fortune on this beast replacing my air compressor every 6 months. If the compressor fails, the suspension fails and the truck can end up riding on the tires at any time until the compressor is fixed. Significant concenrns remain over the air suspension system.
